Jail=the place Aiden will go to when he dies (I've tried telling him he's going to heaven, but he's adamant)
"Give my toes a haircut"=getting his toenails trimmed
"Mama, buffalo me!"=this is a request for me to get down on all fours and push, head-to-head, with Aiden.
A recent, very sweet discussion, while cuddling before nap time:
Aiden: "Mommy, I want a baby sister."
Me: "Well, buddy, daddy and I are trying to get you a baby, but we can't guarantee that it will be a baby sister. You might have a baby brother. Would that be okay?"
Aiden: "No, I want a baby sister."
Me: "Baby brothers are fun, too. You might like him once you met him."
Aiden: "Mama, will the baby live in your belly?"
Me: "Yes, just like you lived in my belly when you were a baby."
Aiden: "I get tiny, I go live in your belly?"
Me: "Aiden, you're a big boy, you won't fit. And you'll only get bigger, not smaller."
Aiden: "I can be the baby. I can drink milk from your nurses and get tiny and be the baby."
Me: "Well, buddy, you used to be the baby, and you nursed, but now you're too big for those things. But you'll still always be my special guy, because you were my first baby."
Aiden: "I a special guy. I a good guy. You're my best buddy mommy. Mommy, you close your eyes and take a nap, I rub your back.
Me: "No, buddy, I'll rub your back, you go to sleep."
Aiden: "Sleep with me for minutes, mama?"
Me: "OK, buddy, for a few minutes.
