Snow!

We woke up this morning to a rarity in Texas--SNOW! There were 2-3 inches when we awoke and the snow has fallen without a break all day, which means we have almost 8 inches of snow in the ground as of 7 o'clock this evening--and another 3 or 4 inches on the way.

It is a lovely snowfall, too--beautiful, fluffy snowflakes, not the icy, slushy stuff we usually get around here. It sticks together wonderfully, the perfect snow for making a snowman. After school, Aiden, Aubrey and I went outside to play. Aiden caught snowflakes on his tongue, made snow angels, and helped to make a "snow pirate." Aubrey was NOT a fan. I had her bundled and her shoes wrapped in plastic bags (redneck snow boots) and had her all ready to play. She giggled at the snow, took 2 steps forward, face-planted into the wet white stuff, and decided that snow just wasn't for her. She screamed dramatically for 10 minutes, even after I had her dried off, warmed up, and inside the house. I got her calm, parked her and a few toys in front of our glass storm door, and returned outside to play with Aiden.

Here are a couple of pictures of our snowy fun.
