A contract?! Maybe?!

This morning we entered into a verbal agreement with another couple to buy our house.  The real estate agents are typing up the contract as we speak. Although the offer is not ideal, and we're having to bring more money to the closing table than we'd hoped, it is a big relief to know that we're one step closer to having the house sold.  If everything goes as planned, we close on May 24th and move out of our house May 28th.

This is both good news and bad. Great, in that we don't have to worry about a lingering mortgage and trying to sell the house and live somewhere else. Sad, though, because it means that I can no longer pretend we aren't moving. This place has really become our home in the past 3 years, we've put down a lot of roots, and it will be so hard to try to yank those up and move.

I've put in our housing application for Fort Hood and gotten us on the wait list. Now I have to schedule movers and try to figure out where we're going to live for the month of June and possibly July, while we wait for a house. There are about a million things to do to prepare for a military move, medical records to get, forms to fill out, and so I will spend the next few months in the throes of bureaucracy and red tape! And between all of that, we'll try to fit in every spare moment of fun with our friends and family here, before we leave.

Please keep our family in your prayers over the next couple of months. Pray that the house closes, that the move goes smoothly, that Brad and I would be brought closer by this process and not divided by it, and that our children handle this move with flying colors.
