Month of Thanks: Day 6

What an incredible nation we live in! Whether your candidate won or lost, you have to appreciate the freedoms we have in this country. I can express my views and be (relatively) free from persecution(aside from some caustic remarks on social media, that is). I don't have to worry about being thrown in prison for speaking against our leaders or disagreeing with their policies, and I'm given the power to choose my leaders and the men and women who will speak on my behalf. I don't have to worry about my family being threatened or killed if I show up at a polling place to vote. We have a beautiful system of government--no it isn't perfect, but it better than any of the alternatives in this world. And for this, I am grateful.
